Legal Marketing Analytics: Guides by SBD Marketing

Every defense firm with a website is already collecting search data, and most never look at it. These guides explain where that data lives, how to read it by charge, and how to tie it to the calls and cases that matter.

How SBD Marketing uses search data for defense firms

SBD Marketing works only with criminal defense law firms, and only with one firm per city. Our SEO work starts with a firm’s own search data.

  1. SEO audits built on your own data
A review of your Search Console, Business Profile and analytics setup that shows which charges you’re close to ranking for and where calls are being lost.
  2. Pages that match real searches
New and rewritten charge and question pages based on the queries people in your county actually use.
  3. Tracking that respects confidentiality
Call and form tracking set up so you can see which sources bring signed cases, without sending client details into analytics or ad tools.

Five data checks for your defense firm

Each of these takes a few minutes in tools you already have access to.

Filter Search Console by charge

Type each charge you handle into the query filter and note which ones barely show up.

Find your page-two queries

Look for queries with an average position between about 5 and 15. These are often the quickest wins.

Read your profile search terms

In your Business Profile performance section, see how many searches were for your name versus general terms.

Submit your own contact form

Then check that the form contents did not land in your analytics or in the page URL.

Ask how the last ten clients found you

Compare the answers with what your reports say. Gaps usually mean tracking is missing somewhere.

How we put these guides together

Each guide draws on Google’s own documentation for Search Console, Business Profiles and Google Analytics, along with what SBD Marketing sees reviewing defense firm data day to day. Reporting tools change their names and features often, so every guide notes when it was last updated. Legal Marketing Analytics is researched and published by SBD Marketing.
